in Rajasthan- » Ranthambhore National Park The
Ranthambore National Park is one of the best tiger reserves in India. It is
abandoned with fortress, lakes and lush green forests. This reserve was
declared as wildlife sanctuary in 1955. Later in 1973, it became a part of
Project Tiger. The excellent ecosystem of the Manjira Bird Sanctuary makes
it all possible to hold diverse biotic communities, including the tigers. .
The Ranthambore National Park covers an area of nearly 400 sq. km. It lies
between the Aravali and Vindhya ranges.

Sariska National ParkSariska Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the
Aravalli hills. It was earlier used as the hunting preserve of the Maharaja
of Alwar. The forests of the Sariska are dry deciduous with a collection of
Dhak, Acacia, and Salar. The Sariska forest holds a number of tigers. The
temperature of this place rises to a maximum of 39º C in the summers
while in winters the records to 29º C. Thus the place is ideally fit to
support habitat to varieties of flora and fauna.

Keoladeo National ParkThe Keoladeo National Park is popularly known
as Keoladeo Ghana National Park. Prior to it this beautiful national park is
popularly known as the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. It is located in Rajasthan.
During the winters, thousands of rare and highly endangered birds like
Siberian Crane come to this place. This national park was declared as a
protected sanctuary in 1971. It is also a declared World Heritage Site.

& Festivals in Rajasthan-» Pushkar FairPushkar
is a delightful little lakeside village, only 11 km from Ajmer, bordered by
the Nag Pahar or the Snake Mountain, and the edge of the Thar Desert. At the
Full Moon of Kartik Poornima each year, almost 200,000 people flock to
Pushkar, bringing with them 50,000 heads of cattle, for several days of
pilgrimage, camel racing and colourful festivities. The Government of
Rajasthan has been promoting this Fair as an international attraction by
adding colourful folk dances, the music of the itinerant "Bhil"
and "Langa" minstrels and other cultural events and by putting up
a large tent city, complete with all modern amenities for foreign visitors.
